At Presbyterian College, upperclassmen have the opportunity to complete an Honors Research project. In 2022, I chose to pursue this challenge by using publicly available data to examine how faculty characteristics influence student outcomes—specifically graduation rates, retention rates, and post-graduation earnings. After successfully defending my paper before the Department of Economics and Business Administration, I presented my research at the 2023 Southeastern Decision Sciences Institute Conference in Wilmington, NC. There, my paper was awarded first place for undergraduate research and recognized before the conference attendees. On this page, you’ll find both an article about my research and a PDF of the full paper.
